Definitions

Bricolage- the jumbled effect produced by the close proximity of buildings fromdifferent periods and in different architectural styles. 

Pastiche- an artistic work in a style that imitates that of another work, artist, or period.

Aesthetics- a set of principles concerned with the nature and appreciation of beauty.

Relativism-  the doctrine that knowledge, truth, and morality exist in relation to culture, society, or historical context, and are not absolute.

Motivation- a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way.

Intent- intention or purpose.

Post modernism- a late 20th-century style and concept in the arts, architecture, and criticism, which represents a departure from modernism and is characterized by the self-conscious use of earlier styles and conventions, a mixing of different artistic styles and media, and a general distrust of theories. 


Modernism- is a philosophical movement that, along with cultural trends and changes, arose from wide-scale and far-reaching transformations in Western society in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
